The 2027 Mercedes-Benz S-Class continues to set the benchmark for luxury sedans despite growing competition from SUVs and changing market trends. Mercedes has updated around 50% of the car with more than 2,700 new parts, although the design changes are subtle. The most noticeable updates include a larger illuminated grille, redesigned lights, new wheels, and a light-up hood ornament.

The lineup includes three versions: the S500 with a 442-hp inline-six mild hybrid, the S580e plug-in hybrid with 576 hp, and the S580 V8 with 530 hp. All models come with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The S500 provides more than enough performance for most buyers, while the V8 offers a more emotional driving experience. The plug-in hybrid feels the quickest thanks to its instant electric power, even though it is not the fastest on paper.

The cabin remains exceptionally comfortable and luxurious. Mercedes has introduced the MBUX Superscreen as standard, combining three displays into one large glass panel. While it offers advanced technology, the reviewer believes it takes away from the traditional elegance of the S-Class interior. Other improvements include redesigned seats, updated controls, new rear-seat remote controllers, and a wide range of customization options through the Manufaktur program.

On the road, the S-Class delivers outstanding comfort, quietness, and stability. Whether driving on the Autobahn or relaxing in the rear seats, the experience remains refined and effortless. Ride quality and overall luxury continue to be among the best in the segment.

The reviewer’s main criticism is the oversized Superscreen, which replaces traditional premium materials with a large digital display. Apart from that, there are very few faults to mention.

Overall, the 2027 Mercedes-Benz S-Class remains one of the finest luxury sedans available. The S500 offers the best value, while the S580e is the most advanced version. Despite the controversial dashboard design, the S-Class continues to be the leader in its class.

2027 Ferrari Purosangue

While the Purosangue might look sort of like an SUV—if you squint—we've driven it and can confirm that it thinks it's one of Ferrari's sports cars. With a 715-hp V-12 engine under the hood and a state-of-the-art active suspension system, the Purosangue's performance is more than just impressive—it's extraordinary.

The interior is ultra luxe, with room for four across two rows of bucket seats. Fine materials such as soft leather and sleek metal accents mingle with digital features designed to fade into the background rather than be in your face. As a result, there's an analog driving experience here that harkens back to Ferrari's golden age without completely denying its driver modern connectivity features.

Expert Tip: If overwhelming luxury in an SUV is what you're after, the Bentley Bentayga offers a more comfort-oriented experience in a larger package. But to us, nothing beats the howl of a Ferrari V-12.

What's New for 2027?

Ferrari is introducing a new Handling Speciale model to the Purosangue lineup this year, which it says makes the SUV even sportier to drive. The adaptive suspension has been reprogrammed and firmed up to reduce body roll in corners. The eight-speed dual-clutch automatic has different shift mapping for what Ferrari describes as "more decisive gearchanges," and there's a new exhaust setting that lets more V-12 engine roar into the cabin. To visually differentiate the Handling Speciale model from the normal Purosangue, Ferrari substitutes unique diamond-cut wheels, carbon fiber trim, matte-black exhaust finishers, and satin-black exterior badging.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

The price of the 2027 Ferrari Purosangue is expected to start around $430.000 and go up to $500.000 depending on the trim and options.

To purists scoffing at an SUV wearing the famed prancing-horse badge, we’ll point to the naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V-12 engine lurking under the Purosangue’s hood. Nothing says Ferrari more than a screaming twelve-cylinder, this one making 715 horsepower and 528 pound-feet of torque—and it even wears the brand’s signature red engine paint on the intake manifold's air boxes. We came away from our initial test drive impressed with the Purosangue's handling and performance, alleviating any remaining doubt we had that Ferrari's first SUV would be a dud.

An active suspension system is standard and uses an electric motor at each corner of the SUV to apply force to the dampers during cornering maneuvers to quell body roll. As such, the Purosangue has no need for traditional anti-roll bars, and it can also hunker down during hard driving by reducing its ride height by 0.4 inches. At full chat, the Purosangue does its best impression of its sports car siblings.

C/D 60-mph Estimate: 3.2 seconds

In Comparison: Both the Lamborghini Urus and Porsche Cayenne Coupe Turbo GT probably have a leg up on the Purosangue in terms of acceleration. The Lambo rocketed to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds in our testing, and the Porsche did it in just 2.8 seconds.

Hot Cross Bunny (1948): Bugs Bunny is a science research test subject for the switching of his brain with a chicken. He finds himself in front of an audience in a lab auditorium and decides to entertain them with impersonations, magic tricks, dancing and skat-singing. When he finally realizes what he's there for, he runs and a chase scene ensues.

Hurdy-Gurdy Hare (1950): Bugs, the entrepreneurial bunny, reads a classified ad for a hurdy gurdy and monkey and decides to go into the music business.

Operation: Rabbit (1952): Wile E. Coyote is determined to catch Bugs but no matter what he tries Bugs turns it back on him. All his pranks end up hurting himself and he never catches Bugs.

Beanstalk Bunny (1955) careful: In this classic Jack and the Beanstalk tale, Daffy takes on the role of Jack and is accompanied by wise-cracking Bugs. Up the beanstalk and into the clouds they find Elmer Fudd as the Giant.

Lumber Jack-Rabbit (1953): Bugs stumbles into Paul Buyan country and tries to take some giant carrots but is chased by a giant dog. Bugs tickles the dogs nose until he sneezes, this sends Bugs right into Paul's house. Finally Bugs gets away from the dog and goes back to eating the carrots. The only cartoon produced in 3-D.

Person to Bunny (1960): This cartoon is a spoof of Edward R. Murrow's Person to Person with Bugs, Daffy, and Elmer. While Bugs is being interviewed he insults Elmer who then demands an apology. Daffy is doing everything he can to be on television but ends up with stage fright.

False Hare (1964): The big bad Wolf and his cousin setup a rabbit club as a front for a rabbit trap. Bugs plays along with their club just to cause more trouble for the Wolves.

Lovelorn Leghorn (1951):

A prize-fighting banty rooster comes to town and Foghorn realizes he can point it's fighting spirit towards Barnyard Dog.

Foghorn Leghorn’s sharp-tongued, domineering wife orders him to sit on their egg while she goes out to play bridge, but Foghorn becomes careless, allowing little Henery the Chicken Hawk to take the egg away.

A Fractured Leghorn (1950):
Foghorn Leghorn and a cat fight over a worm. The cat wants the worm as bait for a fish, while Foghorn just wants the worm for a quick snack.

A Broken Leghorn (1959):
On Old MacDonald's farm, an egg hatches in slow-witted hen Miss Prissy's nest, and out of the shell comes a baby rooster. Fearing he will be replaced by the kid rooster and sent to be slaughtered, Foghorn Leghorn plots to do away with the little tyke.

Raw! Raw! Rooster! (1956):
Foghorn's annoying college buddy, Rhode Island Red, comes for a visit and then won't leave. What's worse, he muscles in on Foggy's harem and reverses most of Foggy's traps and tricks.

Crockett-Doodle-Doo (1960):
Foghorn Leghorn decides to take an egghead genius chick out to the woods to distract him from his long-haired atomic science books and teach him about such practical things as scouting and woodcraft, but finds that the kid is more knowledgeable than he in these matters.

Banty Raids (1963):
A horny hipster rooster, attracted to the hens in Foghorn Leghorn's barnyard, disguises himself as a baby foundling on Foghorn's doorstep. Foghorn adopts the girl-crazy rooster as his son, giving him access to all the chickens on the farm!

Feather Bluster (1958):
Geriatrics Foghorn Leghorn and the barnyard dog recount their years of violent, mutual heckling, unaware that outside the window of their house, their impressionable grandsons have overheard the stories of their antics and intend to follow suit.

Fox-Terror (1957):
Foghorn's going fishing, but a fox has other plans for him. Posing as a racetrack tout, he suggests Foggy get a hunting dog and go hunting. Once the dog is gone, the fox comes after the chickens.
