Is the Range Rover a good car?The Range Rover SUV is like an elegant stately home that's been given a Grand Designs-style makeover. You know what we mean - wet rooms, mood lighting and lots of glass and open spaces all wrapped up in a posh, old-money exterior nestled in beautifully landscaped English countryside.And like a Grand Designs project, the Range Rover doesn't come cheap. It's a good car - but it's an expensive one, with the cost of a Range Rover starting at a touch over £100,000 and top of the range SV models knocking on the door of £200,000. And that's before you start looking at the options Land Rover likes to charge.Still, if you are looking at buying a Range Rover or other similar posh SUVs such as the Bentley Bentayga, Mercedes GLS or BMW X7, you won't necessarily be put off by the price.You could be put off by the car’s size, however. It’s a big car - in fact it’s the first time you can get your Range Rover with seven seats. The car has been around in some shape or form since the 1970s, but this model, released in 2022, manages to hide its dimensions somewhat - it’s a very handsome beast.It has a sleeker front end than the older model, and its sides are so smooth it looks like it’s been sculpted out of marble. You also get some trick slim-line tail lights at the rear, which are hidden behind some black panelling when the car is switched off. From a design perspective, the changes are more evolutionary than revolutionary, but that’s no bad thing.The Range Rover interior is pretty slick, too. There’s an all-new large display in the centre console, while the digital driver’s display is clear and shows all the important information. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are available, as is Amazon Alexa.
